Watercolor Class Cornflowers

Here's another card using a technique from the Online Watercolor Class.

This technique was so much fun!

I didn't realize you could make flowers with a flick of a brush and some paint.

(You did know they were flowers.  Right?)

DH is amazed that I can get so many colors out of 3 tubes of color.

It is amazing.  But I'm still having problems getting the right amount of water.

I'm waiting for that aha moment when it all comes together.

This is how it looked when I finished painting.

I stamped a sentiment at the top.

Then I decided to do some scoring.

Yikes,

Should have let the ink dry first.

I'm glad you are enjoying my blunders and bloopers.

Rest assured that there are much worse that didn't get their picture taken!

I'll take this over to Simon Says Wednesday Challenge where it's
ANYTHING GOES.
You've got to check out those designer cards if  you haven't already.

Thanks for the visit.

Enjoy!

Watercolor Class Chevrons

This is a card I made from a technique from Day 1
My colors ended up being more vibrant than Dawn's
and much less even.

I still don't control the water and paint very well, but I'm learning a lot.

I doubt I'll ever get to the level of the fantastic instructors.

Watercolor Class Washed Leaves

I'm taking an online watercolor class

This class is power packed with information.

I'm behind on homework, but not as behind as I usually am.

This wasn't my first try.

LOL, it wasn't even my second try.

But I did finally get something I felt I could put on a card!

Sometimes practice makes perfect good enough.

I'll be back with some more.

Thanks for the visit.

Enjoy!

BLUNDERS AND BLOOPERS

Here are the ones that didn't make the cut.

Thought I'd share them too.

I decided to skip the hearts.  I wasn't feeling very loving at this point!

Watercolor Class Washed Background

I'm taking an online watercolor class and learning so much.

This was an easy (for me) exercise.

A good starting point.

I'll be sharing lots more homework with you.

I'm even going to share my bloopers.

I promise.

I found out that you can emboss on embossing.

You probably already knew that.

My first embossing of the flower didn't show up well.

Fortunately I used my MISTI.

I inked and embossed again,

and again.

Love the way it turned out.

Thanks for popping in.

Enjoy!

La Rue Shaker

I am so excited!

I've made my first shaker card!

My DD #2 gave me a fuse tool and bags for Christmas.

I was amazed at how easy it was to use this tool!

I figured I'd fill the trash can before I could get it right.

This is the first try.

Hope it isn't beginner's luck and the last time it works for me.

DD will be getting this card.

Using the same heart die (I love this die) and embossing folder,
I did this card.

Snow Day for Merry Monday

Debbie is our hostess this week.

Let's see what she chose...

I haven't made a one layer card in a long time!

My snowman looks like he's about to roll down the hill.

That could be fun!

My card is Crumb Cake and the snowman is from a
Stampin' Up! retired set called Snow Day.
He's stamped in Whisper White craft ink.

I tore a piece of paper to use as a mask and sponged
Whisper White ink under him with a sponge dauber.

Snowflakes were stamped and blowing snow added with the dauber.

I thought it needed something else, so I stamped a tree off the side.
(I had to stamp the bottom under the bottom of the tree to get more height.)

Now it's your turn.

Get a head start on those Christmas cards so you don't have to panic later.

Check out the fantastic Design Team cards.

They are sure to inspire you!

See you at Merry Monday.

Rudolph Days start today
and the challenge is open until the end of the month.
I'm going to share this over there too.

Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy!

Snowflake Ribbon with Faux Mother of Pearl

I used sparkly paper that wrapped a Christmas present
for this beautiful Snowflake Ribbon.

Also used a background from my UFO box done with

0116+copy

We got a little snow yesterday,
on top of the sleet and freezing rain we got on Friday.

We didn't lose power and are cozy inside with all we need.

Just enjoying the scenery.

And rooting for the Panthers!

Thanks for the visit.

Enjoy!

Awesomely Artistic Friend

Full Definition of friend

  1. 1a :  one attached to another by affection or esteemb :  acquaintance
  2. 2a :  one that is not hostileb :  one that is of the same nation, party, or group
  3. 3:  one that favors or promotes something (as a charity)
  4. 4:  a favored companion
I have a lot of awesomely artistic friends!

I'm very thankful for each and every one of them too.

That includes you.

For this card I used 2 great Stampin' Up! sets,
Awesomely Artistic and Butterfly Basics.

The fern from the Butterfly Basics set was stamped off first
to give some depth to the design.

The dragonfly was stamped on vellum and heat embossed
and also stamped on the design piece.

I ussy cut his wings out of the vellum and adhered them in the center
so they would lift up.

I confess that I pulled out some retired colors for this.

It was like playing with old friends.

I'm going to enter this at

Cup of Christmas for Merry Monday

It's Merry Monday time.

This week it's Deanne's turn to name the challenge.

Be sure to check out the rest of the Design Team's cards.
They'll make you feel all warm and toasty.

I printed this digi image several times on cardstock
and colored each with Copic markers.

I fussy cut the cup and gingerbread man and
added them on to create a bit of dimension.

The cup was clear embossed to give it some shine.

Now it's  your turn.

Hope to see you at Merry Monday!

Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy!

Flowering Fields

It's Sale-a-bration time at Stampin' Up!

My favorite item in the catalog was the Flowering Fields stamp set.

I had fun playing with it the other day.

I've given this card so I can post it.

The Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper
is also a free Sale-a-bration item.

The ombre effect looked so pretty with this image.

I colored the stamp with markers and stamped on a snippet of
Mixed Media Paper then cut the larger label from another snippet.

The blender pen was all I needed to move some color.

There's a little sponging around the edges too.

Challenges:

is

OMBRE

{The definition of ombre is the French word for color that is shaded or graduated in tone.}

and

where we need to use our snippets.

Thanks for the visit.

Enjoy!
