Christmas Door

It's Merry Monday time again!

Can you believe it's the last day of October?!!!

Christmas will be her before we know it!

The challenge this week was my choice...
I always put a wreath on my front door.

How do you decorate your door?

This wreath was die cut then stamped and adhered to a die cut piece of fun foam for dimension.

The textured "door" was a snippet of core'dinations paper (I love the texture and creamy color).
I scored the paper at 1" increments to make it look more like a door.
My camera doesn't seem to see the scoring.

My wreath was die cut and stamped on a snippet so I'm off to
Pixie's Snippet Playground

I'm running late for Rudolph Days at Scraps of Life by Scrappymo!
I think this challenge is still open.

I hope you'll show us a sample of how you decorate you door at
Christmas (or how you'd like to), and join us at

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Halloween Fun

Several years ago a friend brought a die to our  Stamp and Share meeting
and I got a few die cuts from it.

I found them in an envelope the other day and decided to finally put them on some cards.

BOO

I die cut some big circles from a piece of So Saffron cardstock and sponged some
Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Tangerine Tango and Perfect Plum on them for the moon.
The sentiment is stamped and heat embossed with some sparkly black embossing powder.
Really quick and simple cards.
I don't know what took me so long!

U Pick the Pumpkin

I tried my hand at coloring with Copic markers.

I need lots more practice, but I had fun trying.

One didn't get beyond the trash, but this one wasn't too bad.

The stamp was a birthday gift from a dear friend who does the most fantastic Copic coloring!

I'll enter at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

Winter Berry With Bird for Merry Monday

It's Merry Monday time.

Sue is our hostess at Merry Monday this week
 and this is her challenge
Isn't that a pretty bird?

I used a Brusho background from my stash and stamped the Winterberry stamp on it
with red ink and went over the branches with a brown marker.

I die cut this little bird from a snippet of leftover inked and stamped background
that was also in my stash.

I added lots of Dazzling Details to the branches so they look very icy.

I'll take my snippets over to

Chrysanthemum Corner

I've been playing with watercoloring again.

This time I painted some die cuts.

I used re-inkers and my Aqua Painter again.

I started by painting the flowers with Pumpkin Pie (yum),
and then added a little Real Red to the centers of the flowers.
I used Old Olive on the leaves.

It was hard to wait between colors but it works out so much better!

The whole panel is popped up with a piece of Fun Foam for added dimension.

There's still a little bit of time to join in at the

The Memory Box Outside the Box Challenge this month is

Black and White for Poppystamps

A simple card for Poppystamps Challenge

The picture doesn't show all the sparkle of that snowflake and ribbon, but it's there!
I was so excited to see that I was the winner of their Blog Badge last month for this card.

I had quite a day with Microsoft 10 updating for FOUR HRS.!
They didn't even ask and did it mid-day.
What a headache!

Sunflowers Framed Twice

I love this sunflower in it's own frame and think it's perfect for this time of year!

I've had fun watercoloring!

Both were done by stamping with VersaMark and heat embossing with white EP.

I put some drops of re-inker in my palette and used an Aqua Painter to pick up the color
and paint the flowers.

I messed up the border on the first one so I cut it down a bit more.

There's still some time to join us at

CAS Watercolour Card Challenge

I'm also going to enter again in
The Flower Challenge
ANYTHING GOES
of course with flowers.

Softly Autumn CAS Watercolour Reminder

This is the actual card that I watercolored during Hurricane Matthew.

It's a CASE of this card by Heather Telford.

I stamped the image with Antique Linen Distress Ink a couple of times on
a folded piece of hot press watercolor paper.

I used my Zigs and an Aqua Painter to add color to the flowers.
I first applied Carmine Red to the base of the flower with a bit of orange next to that.
Then I added Yellow to the tips and used the Aqua Painter to blend the colors.

I determined where I wanted more flowers and added some more using the same technique.

I masked off some of the sentiment before inking.
(I actually remembered to remove the inky tape before stamping. Not always the case!)

And I added some orange splatters for extra interest.

CAS Watercolour Card Challenge
is open until the 24th of October
Here's this month's challenge

Ghosting Reminder for CAS Mix Up

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at

Using Stamping, Ghosting, Stenciling, and Die Cuts

We're using the Ghosting Technique this month.

It seems that the CAS Mix Up Design team is thinking about Christmas.

I hope you'll go check out their inspiration pieces.

I used a piece of a Ghosted Brusho background to die cut my tree.  I tore some snowbanks, and
stenciled some snow to add to the scene.

There are some great videos on this technique.

Penny Black Bashful Butterfly

I posted this card last week where I had done some ghosted images.

I had a little piece left over and didn't want to throw it away or put into the bottomless UFO box...

So I cut this daisy from some mixed media paper and watercolored it.

The daisy is a Penny Black die and the butterfly stamp, that you can barely see over it,
is also from Penny Black.

Vintage Merry Monday

It's Merry Monday Time

This week, Lori  chose our theme.

I used a topper that had been gifted to me.

All it needed was a few layers to enhance it.  I did sponge a bit around the edges of the embossing.

Quick and CAS!

I used some snippets so I'll take this to

I hope you'll join us this week at

Another Ghosted Card and Design Team Call

Do you like to use Mixed Media on your cards?

Do you enjoy making CAS (Clean and Simple) cards?

We're having a Design Team Call at
It's open until October 15th.

If you're interested, just add DT beside your name
when you add a card to the gallery.

This month we're using the Ghosted Technique on our cards.
I used Stamping, Ghosting, Brusho Background, Dry Embossing and a Die Cut

I sprinkled some green Brusho crystals on a piece of mixed media paper and spritzed with water.
I love the speckles of blue that show in the green!
I used a dark blue ink for the sentiment to accentuate those speckles.

When it was dry, I spritzed water on a stencil and laid it on top.
After a few seconds I removed the stencil and blotted with a paper towel.

I love how it leaves a subtle pattern in the background!

Here's some links for the ghosting technique.
